Jessica Melchert | “Red Eyed Rollie” | TEDxUWollongong 2018

Jessica Melchert is a Wollongong based actor, performance artist and student. Due to complete her Bachelor of Performance at the end of 2018. Jessica has been active within the Illawarra arts community since moving in 2016. Co-directing the performance Art group Ovuhm which has presented at such events such as Yours and Owls Festival 2017, Sydney and Wollongong Fringe Festivals 2017 and Made From Scratch at Merrigong Theatre 2018.
Jessica also Co-owns a Jewellery and entertainment brand which hand-makes Jewellery and under the same name Dj’s at events such as Strawberry Boogie 2nd Birthday party.

Since beginning her studies at the University of Wollongong, Jessica has been involved in four student initiated productions. Her latest production being the rebranded D.I.Y, which was a project started as an initiative to bring students from all creative arts disciplines together in order to collaborate and produce new and original works created for the stage. Jessica worked as an actor under the direction of Claire Gilmore and script ‘SKIRT’ written by Meg Goodfellow.

Jessica has also worked on three Productions with Tim Maddock ‘ Mac#!*%’ , Cath McKinnon ‘TILT’ and Linda Luna Luke ‘These Are Not My People’ (in collaboration with writer Mary Rachel Brown) as part of her course work.
